Tombow USA were very generous and gave the Paper Issues team an amazing assortment of adhesives to use on our projects: Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent, NEW Tombow Adhesive Dots, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.

For my project, I made a layout using one of my favourite photos of my husband and son. I wanted to showcase that Maggie Holme's Confetti line could be used on 'masculine' layouts and did not have to be birthday themed. I was actually surprised at how much blue and green I found in this line.

I used the Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent to glue down all of my paper products. There was a slight learning curve with this adhesive, but once I got the hang of it, I was super impressed with how well it held everything down. It's definitely stronger than my usual tape runner. I used the NEW Tombow Adhesive Dots beneath my photo and really liked them. They were easy to use and held really well.

I used the Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue on all my bulky embellishments and I cannot say enough good things about this glue. I am officially a Tombow liquid glue convert. I used a few drops on on both the megal book plate and the bulky white flower and I have not had a problem with them sticking at all. I made this layout almost a month ago and I display my layouts standing up in my scrap room. Neither item has fallen off or budged at all.

I was so impressed at how well this glue holds, I actually used it on a card I made months ago that has a metal embellishment that keeps falling off. I have tried a bunch of different glues on it, but the embellishment keeps falling off. I used the Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue on it about a week ago and it is still holding just fine. The card is ready to be sent to someone finally!

Baby Grey - May Paper Issues Sketch

I look forward to the monthly sketches at Paper Issues so much. They always push me creatively and I have truly loved every layout I have made based on a Paper Issues sketch.

Starting this month, we're changing things up bit and basing the sketches on already existing layouts made by scrapbookers we admire. This month it's a layout Nicole Nowosad created for Fancy Pants.

I had a lot of fun making this layout using Maggie Holmes' new line, Confetti. It's about how Andy always calls his cousin, Evening Grey, 'Baby Grey'. I'm pretty sure she is going to be Baby Grey to him forever, regardless of how old she is.

I switched up some of the circles for different shapes and added some bulky embellishments to some of the spots. I just stuck with a few different papers with patterns that weren't too crazy, so they wouldn't compete too much.

I just love those faux leather bows. Luckily, I bought 2 packs, so I don't think I will run out any time soon. :)

It was so hard for me to commit to using that 'lovely' standout. I really, really love it and I only have one. It went so well with this layout though and I'm glad I did. 

I used the big gold letters from this book and added a garland underneath as there was a bit of a gap before my photo started. I tucked some tickets from the ephemera pack under my photo, added a few little bits on the other side and splattered some pink and blue mist around.

Happy Happy Birthday Girl

I am just smitten with Maggie Holmes' new line, Confetti. I have four nieces and I just knew that all the pink, gold glitter and florals in this line would be perfect for layouts about my best girls. While I think this line works great with non-birthday photos, I really wanted to go birthday crazy to start with photos from Ruby Sky's first birthday. 

I am obsessed with the paper I used as the background. It is pink that runs into wood grain and has faded music notes along the top. It's background paper perfection to me. I think I have three more sheets of it and I'm not sure that's going to be enough. :)

My sister made the most beautiful cakes for the party. Yes cakes. There was a smash cake for Ruby Sky and a big cake for the rest of us. The chipboard frame and cake plate die cut were just perfect for the photo and then I tucked a tag under the frame and ran some little bits down the edge.

Those banner pieces are from a cut apart sheet and I layered them beneath my main photo which I placed on top of a card from the ephemera pack that had some gold glitter on it. I cut some of the tickets from this sheet and placed them at the side of my photo with a Thicker 1 on top.



I love the size and font of these wood veneer letters and they're half dipped in gold. So fun.



I just love banners. I hope they never go out of style. I don't usually use so many different alphas (1), (2), (3), (4) for my title, but by sticking with just black and gold, I don't think they compete too much.

I have made two non-birthday themed layouts using photos of my nieces and one 'boy' layout using Confetti that I will be sharing in the coming weeks. This line seems so birthday-ish and pink, but I was surprised at how versatile it has been already. I can't wait to create some more with this line!

Mafia Meetup

Today on the Paper Issues blog we're doing a round up of projects featuring the free printables that are available in the Paper Issues shop. Every month a new set is added and they are all super awesome.

I knew this printable made for the crop we had last month would be perfect for a layout about my first time meeting up with an internet friend. I got to hang out with Leah from the design team a few weeks ago and we had so much fun. I'm super excited to have lunch again in a few weeks. I actually based this whole layout around the gold foil scissors die cut that came in the Crate Paper Craft Market ephemera pack. 

I actually mixed embellishments from Craft Market with papers from Maggie Holmes' Open Book. Their colours go really well together.

I am a huge, huge Crate Paper fan. That wood grain paper and floral paper from the new Craft Market line are some of my most favourite papers ever. For the most part, I never hoard, I always cut into my favourite papers, but only a little bit. :) It took a bit of nerve for me to cut a huge piece of that wood grain paper.

To balance out the strips of patterned paper along the left, I had a little embellishment sneeze all over the right side using Crate Paper Craft Market, My Minds Eye On Trend, Pinfrresh Studio Up in the Clouds, and Elle's Studio Cienna.

this girl - Paper Issues Product Spotlight: Elle's Studio Cienna

I love the new line from Elle's Studio, Cienna. As soon as I saw the the line, I knew it would be perfect for photos of our sweet Ruby Sky. This is one of my favourite photos of her and I really wanted it to be the star of the layout. that pink brush stroke paper is my also my favourite from the line, so I wanted to use a big piece of it at the top and anchor it with one of the cut off pieces from another paper. I just love when companies add those pieces, it's like you get a third side of paper.

The wood veneers are my favourite part of the entire line. It was so hard for me to limit myself to the few I put on.

I wanted to keep my journaling short and to the point as I used so any pieces around the layout describing Ruby Sky.

My new favourite thing is having a line of paper bits running down the side or beneath a photo. I added a wood veneer heart that I attached with my Tiny Attacher for some added dimension.

Snow Day - Paper Issues Sketch

There is a new sketch up on the paper issues blog and I just adored this one. I was stumped at first by the circle as I'm just not the best at using them.

I just couldn't get patterned paper to look right for the sketch. Then, once I decided to use a photo from our snow day in February, I knew this silver vellum from Crate Paper would be perfect. 

I didn't have any alphas that were big enough to fit the scale of the sketch. I decided to hand cut my title from an older Crate Paper Christmas line. 

I decided I wanted to keep my layout fairly simple and just tucked a tag and label behind my photo.

I then scattered some snowflakes, silver sequins and enamel dots around the page.

I really wanted the page to feel like snow, so I kept things white with some silver, and a bit of cool blue. I really love the feel of this page!
